Before I could even take a bite, Tootie jumped up and grabbed the sandwich out of my hand! I just stood there and cried...LOL! (Things we remember)
First piercing: Ears
First tattoo: Yin/Yang on my left shoulder.

First kiss: It was 1990 and I was staying the weekend over my firends house. Her and I were at the park with these boys we liked. Everyone dared me to kiss him and I did. We opened our mouths and basically inhaled each others breath. There was no transference of bodily fluids or tongue swiping. We just stood there with our mouths open on each others moving our heads from side to side...LOL!
First enemy: Cherita T. This is the same girl from above. She was really fake and full of herself. She was bossy, a bully and spoiled. I'll never forget. In 5th grade at the end of the school year everyone had finally gotten sick of her and her attitude. So, we all banded together and started harrassing her. The teacher left the room and so, we started making jokes and then we got the bright idea to punch holes in her lunch. She was carrying it in a brown paper bag. We each took turns walking up to her desk punching holes in the bag. When the teacher came back, she tricked on us and of course we all got in trouble, but she deserved it!!!

The hunt is on...AGAIN!

I am looking for an apartment, again...

In the last post, I mentioned discussing what I had to encounter when I made it back in the Bean from NYC. Well, hereeee it goes... Once upon time not long ago, where people wore pajamas and lived life slow...LOL! Just kidding! I know I'm corny...

So, I'm in NYC a couple of weekends ago and my roommate calls and tells me...drum roll please...we have an eviction notice on the door. WTF!!!

*Background Info*

For starters, I don't have a lease. I found this apartment on the infamous craig's list back in March. Back then it seemed too good to be true, but I figured there was no need questioning a good thing because they don't come around too often. Anyone that knows anything about Boston, knows that the cost of housing is ridicously high. So, when I found this place for 850 with a FREE washer and dryer in the basement, I was all over it. When the landlord presented the idea of no lease I was cool with that because both myself and my roommate are in rotational programs at work, so this gave us the legal option out without any problems. When we signed the contract stating all of this we told him that we were in these rotational programs making this the ideal situation.

On September 30th, I emailed him telling him that my roommate would be leaving for Kentucky in November and I would be interested in remaining in the apartment. I also told him that I was in the process of finding another roommate. He emailed me back saying that it wasn't a problem. All my roommate needed to do was put in writing her situation and when she would be leaving and everything would be okay. Cool Beans!

So, all through out October I started putting out ads on roommates.com and telling people to keep an eye out for anyone looking for a place to stay. Then he hit us or me more importantly with a whammy on October 30th!

*Back to the present*

So, my roommate calls and tell me that she was then the bed when someone banged on the door. By the time she made it to the door the notice was taped on the front. She immediately called me to fill me in. Since I wasn't in town she had to do all investigating and leg work. She calls him and he doesn't answer. About an hour later she sees him pull up outside. She asks him can they talk and he blows her off talking about he had to help the roofer and he would be around all day. (He's getting the roof repaired) A straight slap in the face. We have never had a disrespectful relationship with him, so we're both scratching our heads like we were in the twilight zone. wondering what the hell is going on. Usually a person gets an eviction notice because they didn't pay rent, they were nasty, they were damaging the apartment and as a result they were asked to leave and refused. To me eviction has a negative connotation attached. Don't get me wrong, he is well within his rights to ask us to leave since we weren't on a lease. All he's legally obligated to do is give us 30 days notice, which he's doing. But, an eviction notice. That was a hoe ass move.

The next day, he calls my roommate apologizing. I guess he thought about it and felt bad or something. He tells her that after we informed him that she was leaving and told him that we were in this rotational program that he decided it would be in his best interest to get more long term tenets. He said that his family wanted to move in on a more permenant basis.

1. We told his stupid ass from the beginning that we were in the rotational program.
2. He introduced the idea of a "tenancy at will" to protect himself, not us.
3. I'm still staying and can afford the place without a roommate, which I made clear from the beginning.
4. Even if we had signed a lease it would have been for a year. That means that I would have to stay 5 more months to complete this lease. I intended on staying in this apartment for at least 8 more months because my new assignment is still in Boston. So, I would have more than fulfilled any lease obligation.

Me being me, I just turned the other cheek and gave him the middle finger. Since then I have found a few more places to stay. Everyone keeps telling me that I can contest this and I can do that, but for what. I'm just going to move out on the 30th and appreciate the little money his cheap place allowed me to save. I do know that I WILL NOT go into another tenancy at will situation because motherfuckers are a trip!!!!

Catch a breath

I know it's been about a week since I last wrote, but I get so busy sometimes. This is the only time I've had lately to catch a breath. I have a man now ( Yeah, Common and I decided to do the thing) and work is in full gear. Those 2 things alone leave me tired by the end of the day and all I can think about is sleep. Since Common is in NY we talk on the phone all night, which means I'm tired as hell in the morning for work, only to do it all over again. Tommorrow I fly to Indiana for a conference in the morning, so I won't have time to blog until I get back. Rest assured I have been mentally storing all the funny things that make you say WTF in my brain ready for release. I just wanted to post something to say I haven't disappeared.

I do want to give a brief update about my trip to NY to visit Common, though. To those that just started reading...No, it is not THE Common, but my new boo whose essence and swagger put you in the mind of Common...who is his favorite artist. Anyway, the trip was wonderful. I really enjoyed spending the weekend with him and meeting one of his line brothers who happened to be in town that weekend. I must admit Common really does compliment who I am. I know it's early, but so far so good. He also surprised me with this perfume I have been wanting to buy... Be Delicious by DKNY. I had made mention of the fact that I wanted that perfume and he got it for me as a surprise. I love a man that listens :) Now, I'm delicious all day ;-P

Common will actually be here next weekend, which is also the same weekend I'm throwing my roommate a going away party. She's moving to Kentucky for work, so I thought a party would be a great idea. I know you're thinking Kentucky...who goes there? (((shrugging my shoulders))) I digress. So, he will get the opportunity to meet a lot of my friends at the party. I must admit I'm nervous about that. It has been a while since I've actually had a man. You know, someone that you introduce with the title...This should be really interesting. I will definitely post that weekend as soon as it's over...LOL!

If I can get a minute over the weekend to write again, I will tell about the bullshit I had to come home to when I got back from NY this week. All I want to say is mutherfuckers are a trip!

Before I depart, I want to ask the haters one question:

CAN I LIVE?!?!

Good night...
