Another Long Weekend...

That's what I'm about to embark on. Me and a bunch of people rented a house on Martha's Vineyard for the holiday. Let the foolary begin!!!!

As with every trip I take, I am no where near ready. I still have to get clothes out the cleaners, get my eyebrows arched, nails repainted (I chipped my French Pedicure), hair done, and I need to pack. ***Sigh*** The life of a procrastinator. All is good, though...I'll handel it.

Do you guys ever shop at TJ Maxx? I just got hipped to the savings that store has to offer on name brand merchandise. I went shopping yesterday to pick up a new Large Suitcase. I broke the zipper on mine when I got back from my last Miami trip. I still have the medium and the small, but I needed to replace the large. So, everyone was telling me to stop at TJ's. See, I never shopped there before or places like it...including department stores, because I don't have the time and patience required to find the "good" stuff. Yesterday, I was on shopping fire. Not only did I purchase a suitcase ($120 Nine West green with brown leather trim suitcase for $70) I bought 3 pairs of shoes, a purse, 2 shirts, a skirt and a Tommy Hilfiger Queen size sheet set for $25. I love it! That's my problem. I can't just go in and get what I need. I always make a detour to financial hell...

So, I went to the dentist Wednesday to start the procedure of getting this tooth crowned. I had a root canal some time back and never got it crowned. I had used up my dental insurance for the year, so I had to wait until it replenished when the calander year started over. The crown costs $900 and insurance covers half. At the time I needed it I only had $200 of insurance left for the year whichs means I would have to pay $700. I decided to wait it out. Thankfully, I have a little extra money to burn, so it's time to finishing perfecting my smile. I mean these are the only teeth I got. Aside from that, one of my fillings have been bothering me. They redid it...free of course. Hell. I just got it last year.

Let me say...I HATE THE DENTIST!!! With a passion. I almost slapped the hygentist with her rough ass. I had to get an xray done for them to see the filling and the root canaled tooth. She jabbed the thing in my mouth that seperates your teeth for them to see. Then when the dentist was working in my mouth she was scratching my gums with the suction device they use to suck up spit and water. I had grab her hand and tell her straight up..."you're being too rough". I wanted to warn her because my hands have a mind of their own. I just be slapping people and I didn't want to back slap this ditzy white girl.

As you see, I haven't been doing anything much since the last post....

Oh, but I did find out that I have a cousin here in Boston. He's been here for the last 7 years and I never knew that. He tracked me down yesterday. I'm so excited to see him. I haven't seen him since we were kids...we're two years apart. Our grandmothers are sisters. It's a shame, but I wouldn't be able to point him out in a line-up. LOL! As you can see, we didn't grow up together. He grew up in Arkansas where my grandmother and her family is originally from. His grandmother and her family never left, whereas my grandmother, grandfather and few of my grandmother's other sisters and brothers moved to Chicago, back in the day. I'm just glad that I have family here who is doing big things. I would tell you what he does, but I won't. Hell, you don't even know what I do!!! LOL! So, we're getting together next week to catch up. I can't wait to meet Cuz!!!

That's all for now...I'll hollar at you good peeps next week. I don't get back until Wednesday. I am leaving the laptop at home. No interruptions or contact with people that are not on the island. Don't call me or text message me unless you want me to meet you on the beach or you're on the ferry on your way over and want to meet up. You feel me?!

Until next time,
Smooches :)

Weddings...

What up Blog People?!

I went to Chicago this weekend for a wedding. It was Dude's brother's wedding. While there I got to visit my family for a few hours on Friday. The plan was for me to fly into Midway Friday, stay the night and then Dude would pick me up Saturday morning to go to the wedding in Joliet. I would stay in Joliet Saturday night and fly out Sunday. My flight was delayed. No surprise. So, it cut my family time short. I didn't make it to Chicago until 10p.m instead of 7. So, by the time I got there everyone is laying it down for the night and I was tired, too. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed the family time spent.

Dude picked me up for the wedding Saturday morning. I was looking hot to death. Unfortuantely, I didn't take any pictures with my phone. He has some, so when I get them I might post them. I'll have to check and see if he wants his image on the internet.

The wedding was very boring, unemotional and ghetto. The colors were Crimson and Black. The bridesmaid's dresses were nice. Even though, one girl had a stain on the front of her dress before the wedding even started. Guess whose sister that was...DUDE'S. How in the hell are you going to be in all the pictures with a damn stain on the front of your dress. And, she didn't even attempt to remove the stain. No emergency dash to the Walmart that was across the street from the hotel to get a stain removal pen. No dabs of cold water. I thought that was very careless and tacky. Had it been my wedding she would have set it out.

The brides dress was plain Jane. It was Cindrella style, but with no Umph! You know what I mean? It didn't sparkle. It didn't make you catch your breath when she walked out. It didn't make me wish for one minute that that was me instead of her...LOL! Ladies, you know how we do at weddings. For a split second you stand there and imagine you in her place. Nope! Not this time.

The preacher...Bless his heart...Couldn't say her name right. It was the standard ghetto name, but it was a common ghetto name. He mispronounced it from the beginning and no one said anything. Then when he had them recite the vows she corrected him in a subtle way. When she had to repeat the "I blank take blank", she said her name correctly. You would think the preacher would have taken the hint and just pronounced it correctly going forward. NOPE! He made a big production about how he said it wrong and what the correct pronunciation was. Then for the rest of the ceremony he kept reffering back to it in a joking manner. So, they are up there laughing and shit. I was upset. Just a ghetto mess.

To close the wedding out this girl sang Inseperable. It was an acceptable rendition of the song. Only problem was that when she paused while singing, the preacher started back talking and then she had to sing over him because she wasn't finished with the song. I'm sitting there thinking...didn't you all rehearse this yesterday??? WTF!

The wedding was over at 4, but the reception didn't start until 6. At least that's what the program said. But, at the church they made an annoucement that it would be starting at 5. Okay. Fine. First problem, we get to the reception...we meaning me and his family. I was with them the entire time because he was in the wedding. Anyway, we get there and the bride has her people at the door with a list. So, I tell her that I'm a guest of the groom's brother. She looks on the list and says he only has himself down. WTF! I say, "It says his name under the wedding party and 1 next to it". She says, "That's for him". I say, "Well, I'm here." She says, "You'll have to wait until they get here". WTF! "So, you want me to wait outside?" This bitch says, "Or over to the side." I just walked off because I was close to cursing her fat ass out. Stupid bitch. If I tell you that I'm with the groom's brother regardless of whether I'm on the list or not I should be let in. I didn't fly 1000 miles to crash their unorganized fucking wedding. Needless to say, I got in the reception.

With all that hoopla you would think that this was a plate per person situation. NOPE! It was fucking buffet style. Idiots. Anyway, we get there at about 4:30 thinking the reception starts at 5. Miss Front Door Nazi gets on the mic and says that the wedding party arrives at 6:15 and the bar opens at 6. WTH! So, we literally set there for over an hour looking at each other. The music was wack, there was no liquor or refreshments. There wasn't even water and bread on the table. You would think the bar was an open bar since they were manning it like that. NOPE! Cash bar, but we can't drink until 6. Straight BS.

So, the wedding party arrives and the Frontdoor Nazi is on the mic once again introducing the wedding party. In true ignant ghetto style, the heffa mispronounces one of the groomsmen's names. She's like, " We have blank and Ryan..." Then she looks at someone and you can hear all of this on the mic..."How do you say this?" and she laughs. So her and her ghetto family member are over there trying to pronounce the man's last name. By this time he has walked out and set down. Then, she says, " Please forgive me. I don't have my glasses". Well, your fat ass shouldn't be reading the cards!!! Just ghetto.

Finally, the salads are being served. So, I decide to get up and get another glass of wine to have with my food. I was stopped and told that the bar is closed until after we eat. WHAT! THE BAR IS A FUCKING CASH BAR! Why in the hell were they giving us liquor in portions?!

I will admit that the food was good. That was the best part of the entire fiasco. Maybe I was just hungry since I had been out since 11 with no food or water...LOL!

The night ended well. I ended up getting "full" and then we went to this hole in the wall club to finish the evening. One last oberservation of the evening...at least one last observation that I'm going to mention...I bought the bride and the groom a drink at the bar after everything was settled down. Neither one of them said thank you. They took the drink and kept it moving. The perfect ending to a classless wedding...

There was no throwing of the bouquet. No first dance for the couple. Nothing...

My Butt Is Bigger Than Yours...

That's what this GUY that is trying to date me told me...WTF!

It all started with me being at the nail shop yesterday texting him about this lady next to me who was getting her feet done. She had straight up hammer time. Green toenails and all. The conversation went like this:

Me: Do you remember the episode of Martin where Shanaynay was doing that lady's feet and she had to pull out the chainsaw? That's what is happening today.
Him: LOL! Yeah she had to take over for the other girl.
Me: I'm not lying. We are both getting our feet done and I don't want to stare.
Him: Well you do have nicer feet than most.
Me: Thanks
Him: But my butt is bigger :)

WTF!?!

First of all, why did that even come up in the nonrelated conversation. Second, why is he competing with me? We're not girlfriends...or are we? Thirdly, what makes him think that's cute or funny to say to ANYONE?! That's some shit me and my girls would say to each other when we were 15. Grown ass women don't talk like that, so why would I want to hear it from a man that's trying to win me over. THAT AIN'T HOW TO DO IT. And, he wonders why I question his sexuality and don't want to date him.

So, he tries to tell me that it was just a joke and I need to calm down because it's not that serious. Classic control tactic...you know, tell a person their overreacting so they feel bad about it. WRONG! That doesn't work on me. I'm in touch with my emotions and don't have any problem expressing them. Don't joke with me like that. That's not cute. All the men I know with big booties try to conceal it...not brag about it. You're bragging to the wrong one baby, but I can introduce you to Tyrone. He might think it's funny.

For those of you that know me, have seen my picture and read my blog often...do I look like, sound like, or act like I want a gay boyfriend? If not, why the Fuck do all these gay ass men flock to me. I'm not looking for a Will to my Grace. You feel me? I'll take a Jack as a friend to help me spot the pretenders, but that's it. I don't want you stick your shit laced penis in me. Keep that to yourself. This isn't HollyWood. I'm not looking to be someone's beard...

I have told him over and over again that if he's gay or has gay feelings that's okay. Do you, but don't do me...I have nothing againt the homosexual life style. I do have issue with the Down Low lifestyle. That's what will make me take a contract out on a nigga's life...fucking with my health and sanity. Just keep it real. He keeps displaying all the classic signs, but looks me in the eye and denies it. That makes me dislike him even more. I feel like he's trying to pull a slick one on me. I feel like he needs a girlfriend to show to the world. To hide his behind closed door behavior. I'm not the Fag Hag...it won't be me.

Needless to say, I have told him over and over again that I'm not interested in pursuing anything further. I listed his questionable sexuality as one reason why we couldn't go any further. He didn't even blink an eye. That's another thing that makes me think I'm hitting the nail on the head. I'll say that I think he has gay tendencies and he'll just shrug. To get him to out right deny it I have to press the issue. Otherwise, he'll just side step the claim like I didn't even say it. WTF is that about? So, we're still "friends", but he keeps trying to push up on me. That pisses me off. STOP FLIRTING WITH ME! It's making my skin crawl because I know he's gay in my soul. In a minute I'm just going to stop being nice...take the gloves off and tell him ass what I really think about him. I keep trying to being PC about it. I'm not in the business to be hurting folks feelings, but some people are just gluttons for punishment.

Tell me what you think?

Random Chatter

I got this from Nsane...I thought I'd post my results .

Your Birthdate: April 13

You're dominant and powerful. You always need to be in charge.
While others respect your competence, you can be a bit of a dictator.
Hard working and serious, you never let yourself down.
You are exact and accurate - and you expect others to be the same way.

Your strength: You always get the job done

Your weakness: You're a perfectionist to a fault

Your power color: Gray

Your power symbol: Checkmark

Your power month: April

This kind of hit the nail on the head. Although, saying I'm a dictator is a little harsh. I do like to be in control, but that's just an Aries trait and a result of my upbringing. What can I say? :)
***I've Fallen, but Luckily I Was Able to Get Up***
Yesterday I wore some sandals with about a 2 inch heel. Whenever you see me I will more than likely have on heels. That's just my thing. I own flats and I sometimes wear flats, but I like to wear dressy shoes. Put it like this, I've had the same gym-shoes for 2 years and they still don't look really worn. Anyway, I'm wearing the sandals and the hem of my slacks are hitting the heel...as most of my slacks do. I'm only 5"2 and with my highest heel (4 inches) I'm only 5"6, so most of my slacks fall to the floor or a little above.
As I'm walking out the building my heel gets caught in the cuff of my pants and I fall down 5 concrete steps. Don't laugh!!! Okay, it is funny...but, it hurt like hell. I scrapped my right foot taking off all the polish on my big toes and some skin off my second toe. I scrapped my shin and hurt my hand. Luckily, I didn't twist my ankle or bust my head...I got up, looked around to make sure no one saw me and limped to my car. I all but ruined my heels due to me scrapping the topside of my foot on concrete. It took everything out of my not to cry...(it's that time of the month) I love those sandals, now I have to get a new pedicure due to the wedding this weekend and my foot hurts !!!
***Straight Out An Episode of Tom & Jerry***
I headed straight home from work, exhausted and in pain. I thought I was going to go in the house and take a nice bath to lick my wounds. WRONG!
I mentioned in a past entry that I don't have AC in the house. So, I walk in strip and cut on fans. After stripping guess what I saw?!?!? You got it...a damn mouse! A really tiny mouse. You know the kind that doesn't make any noise. I immediately freeze to see where he's going next. I dont' see him anymore. So, I start scurrying around to pick shit up. I'm not a nasty person, but I can get junky in a hectic week or during a lazy weekend. For some odd reason I like to wear a different pair of shoes every day, so I had to put shoes in thier boxes. Cleaners clothes in the cleaners bag, dirty clothes in the laundry bag. Put my purses where they go...vaccum. That kind of stuff...But, I didn't have any dirty dishes...told you I wasn't a nasty person...LOL! Then I see him again...DOOM, DOOM, DOOM. He ran in the bathroom!
I'm frantically trying to think of what to do next. I don't have any traps because this is the first mouse I've seen. My landlord told me to tell her if I ever saw any mice, but I didn't think anything of it. I guess I should have taken that as a warning...Right?! I mean, the house I live in is about 100 years old. It's a huge Victorian Style house and in Boston we live on top of each other like mice, so I shouldn't be surprised...Anyway, imagine me standing at at the threshold of the bathroom in a tank top and some shorts limping because my feet hurt. I had my hair pulled up in a clip because I'm sweating at this point from all the frantic cleaning. I had a dustpan in one hand and the broom in the other. I had decided that I would pick him up in the dustpan and throw him outside. I figured that would be the most humane thing to do. Besides, he looked like a field mouse.
He pokes his head out and stares at me. I jump and he runs back behind the sink cabinet. So, I stand there poised to attack for another 30 seconds with sweat dripping off my forehead. He does it again. We stare at each other for about 15 seconds, I'm not breathing because I don't want him to run back again. He inches forward and then trys to make a run for it. Instinctively, I jump back and try to smother him with the broom. Of course, I miss and end up knocking him down the hall steps...my bathroom is right at the top of the steps. I'm frozen again because I anticipated him jumping back up the steps. SO, I turn on the light and he's gone. I start walking down the steps to see where he could be and then I notice it. There is a small hole in the wall at the crease of the step. This no muscle having bastard has sqeezed in the hole and is gone. Hopefully, I won't see him again. As I mentioned, the house is huge, so he could bout be anywhere on her side. She has 3 floors to herself and that doesn't include the basement. So, we'll see what happens. I'm going to get some glue traps just in case.
Once Mighty Mouse disappeared I laid across the bed telling myself I was only going to cool off under the fan for a minute...WRONG! I woke up at 10:30...LOL!

Bah Humbug....

It's a beautiful Monday morning and I'm at work. Bah Humbug.
As you can see, I highlighted my hair, Thursday. ( I had a picture up, but it was too big, so I tried to put up a smaller one and now Blogger is acting funny. I'll have to post it later) (Ok, I was able to post it, finally) My beautician put in Copper highlights with a lightner...don't ask me what that means because I have no idea. Unfortunately, my hair is flat in the picture because the weather has been hot and humid up here in Bean-town!!! Finally! It's bitter sweet, though. No more cold weather and I get to floss my tan, but my hair won't hold a curl. I mean look at it! You wouldn't think I just got it done Thursday. I guess I'll have to go back to rods or something because this ain't going to work...I'm sweating every time I step outside. I mean inside is no better since I don't have AC. Let me make a note to self to go and get one...SOON! My car needs some coolant. I'm going to do that today before I head home because it's suppose to be 90 when I get off work. 90 up here feels like 100, no joke. Luckily, it's suppose to rain tonight and tomorrow bringing the temperture down to a comfortable 80-85. I can do that. To think...Im acutally looking forward to the rain. Such Irony!

Anyway...My weekend was nice.

Friday, me and few friends went to this nice Italian restaurant to eat. The food was good, the drinks were good, the service was perfect. We didn't even feel like the only black people in there even though we were. We had a seat outside catching the cool night breeze. I really enjoyed myself. There was this cute valet guy with dreads. From a distance he looked really good and chiseled in the face. You know...strong jaw, high cheekbones. He had his dreads pulled back and they hung to the middle of his back. We kept catching each others eye. I commented that I thought he was attractive, but left it at that. So, after my friends and I say our good-byes my girl Hershey calls me and says look out cutie is on his way over to my car and sure enough he's crossing the street towards me. So, I hop out the car and immediately I notice his mushy baby face...gone was all the hardness I thought I saw. Replacing it was the gapped toothed smile of a not so cute 26 year old. Honestly, I think gaps in teeth add character to a person's appearence... SO, I give him my number telling him to call me tomorrow afternoon. So, Saturday EVENING arrives and he calls. Here is the conversation.

Me: Hell0
Abdus (That's his name): Can I speak to Dynasty?
Me: Speaking. Who is this? (I was getting dressed and in a hurry)
Ab: This is Abdus. (Starts talking to someone in the background)
Ab: Sorry about that. Do you know who this is?
Me: Yeah, Ab.
Ab: Do you remember me?
Me: (Getting frustrated) Yeah, I just met you last night.
Ab: So, what you know about that dude Ab? (Talking about himself in the 3rd person)
Me: (Is he serious?) Dude, stop playing with me. What do you want?
Ab: (Laughs) I'm sorry. Are you busy?
Me: Yeah, I'm getting dressed to head out the door to a b-day party.
Ab: Oh okay. So, what's up?
Me: I just told you I'm headed out the door. Look call me some other time. (Click)

I couldn't make this up if I tried...For real. That was the exact dumb ass conversation. Needless to say I won't be answering that number again.

Saturday was crazy...

My boy B-Hodges had a b-day bbq at my girl's house. She just bought a beautiful condo, so he held the festivities there.

***Side Note***
Now, you may remember me mentioning my old roommate Crazy in a previous entry many moons ago. Her and I went to undergrad together and coincidentally we both moved to Boston. So, when she heard I was here she offered her 2 bedroom condo, that she was closing on at the time, as a place for me to stay as her roommate. Of course i accepted. It was a new city and this way I at least knew someone that already had a friend base that could help me get acclimated to the city. Mind you, her and I weren't friends in college...associates, but not friends. We ran in different crowds. I was in a sorority, she was in ROTC. I was on different committies and involved, she was at the gym or drinking...So, I didn't really, really know her. Soon found out that she was like night and day. She was cool, nice, helpful, but when she got to drinking she became abrasive, confrontational, mean, argumentative, and stupid. I had heard stories about her drinking and the antics that usually follow, but I didn't want to judge her. You know what I mean? Wrong choice. Where there is smoke...there's usually fire...

Everything came to a head in May 2004 when we came to blows during one of ther drunken tirades. She called me one too many Bitches. Enough was enough. I moved out the next day. Her and I are still cool, but I keep her at arms length because she 'll have you somewhere caught up in some dumb shit. For instance, we were in Miami for Memorial Day Weekend that same year ( she apologized and we made up for the fight) and she was drunk and decided she wanted to fight this dude for absolutely nothing. Luckily, he was a lame or she would have gotten hurt. Since then she has cussed out and tried to fight a lot of our mutual friends while drunk to where people won't deal with her unless she's sober. She has even been univinted to parties because they know that Crazy will ruin someones evening one way or another.
***Back to Story***

So, Saturday we're all eating, drinking, playing cards, laughing...just having a good time. Crazy comes over from another party. Now, I haven't seen her since Feburary, so I like to catch up with her when I see her. I should have known she was getting drunk, but I didn't...especially, since this was her second stop of the night. So, she had to meet this chick to get her house keys at this club nearby and she asked me if I wanted to go. Of course, I said yes because the night was still young. Me, her, B-hodges and his roommate went. It was this hole in the wall Latino, but only play hip-hop and R&B club. She immediately starts buying drinks. She still hasn't done anything to signal to me that there's a problem. She even went so far as to tell me that she doesn't drink like that any more. Whatever! So, the night progresses and I don't see her anymore. So, I tell B I'll be back and I walk to the front and don't see her. I tell the guy at the door that I'm just going to step outside real quick and I'll be back. He automatically says, "You're looking for your friend?" I say, "Yeah". So, I go outside and the owner is out there and I ask her if she's seen Crazy. Here is what happened. Crazy was at the bar and couldn't get a drink because there was only one bartender and it was crowded. So, she goes to the owner and says that she deserves better service and that the bartender should know who she is and serve her on sight. Mind you, this is the first time we have ever been there. She proceeds to tell the manager that she was going to call the police. She left and walked down the street. WTF!!!

First of all, she walked in the opposite direction of her car. (She drove) Second of all, why wouldn't she come in and get us, especially since I rode with her. So, I go and get them and tell them the scoop. We're blowing her phone up to no answer. All of us are pissed that she got us out here, YET AGAIN, on some dumb shit. Everyone has thier personal Crazy story to make words unnecessary. All we could do was shake our heads. So, I call the girl whose house we just left to see if maybe Crazy caught a cab there. Nope and Crazy left her phone over there!!! So, I call the police to see if she was true to her word and had in fact called in a complaint. Nope! But, they did advise that if I didn't find her by 6 in the morning to file a missing persons report. We're sitting out front of this Latin club at 2 in the morning in the hood looking for this trick! Finally, we decide after driving up and down the street that there is nothing we can do until the morning. At 9 in the morning B called me and told me that she called him from her house and said that she was drunk and had someone pick her up and since she left her phone she didn't have anyone's numbers. She only had B's because he called her house and it was on the caller ID. WTF! I didn't even ask how she made all that happen...

So, instead of coming to the back of the club and getting us and having B take her home she does that. Instead, having me drive her car back to our girl's house where my car was and staying the night there, she does that. I can't deal with her. Nothing has changed. That is the type of dumb shit that got ole girl killed in NYC. Hanging out late, walking down the street by yourself drunk. It's funny because everyone I called to tell them Crazy was missing...no one cared. The girl whose house she left her phone at was like, " See that's why I don't mess with her when she's been drinking. I had to stop dealing with her for a minute because of her behavior. She'll be okay." LOL!!!! It's sad when people don't care about what you do. It's almost like the little boy that cried wolf. I just hope that if the wolf ever comes to get her, someone will care enough to do something about it.

Thanks for reading this long ass post.

What It Is, Huh? What's Up?

Thanks for all the wishes you guys sent while I was in Miami. I've actually been back since Monday, but I had to get acclimated to the real world. It always takes me a few days. I have to catch up on sleep, work, tv shows, etc. Below is a picture I took while there. You'll notice I have my glasses on. I ripped my right contact Thursday and it hurt like hell, so I had to wear my glasses for most of the trip. Except for Saturday, I actuall only wore one contact and it wasn't that bad...no mishaps and I didn't fall...LOL! The picture below was taken that Friday.

Finally, I feel like I can breathe only to be heading back out of town next weekend. I'm racking up those frequent flier miles in a big way...now if only I could stick to one airline. Honestly, I would have to fly to the moon and back to get enough miles to qualify for a free trip. It takes 25,000 miles to get a free trip with American. WTF! First of all, I seldomly fly American because the prices are too high. My new favorite Airline is Delta/Song...I digress. As I was saying, I'm headed to Chicago for a wedding. A friend of mine's brother is getting married and he asked me to accompany him as his date. I love weddings, so I'm looking forward to it. Plus, this is an unexpected trip to Chicago giving me the opportunity to drop in on my daughter and a special friend. ;)

Speaking of weddings, I've been thinking a lot about relationships. Hopefully, some of my "seasoned" bloggers can chime in and shed a little light on the subject. Here it goes.

I'm 27, 5'2, 135-140 pounds depending on what time of the month it is, spiritual, attractive, intelligent, educated, witty, confident, opinionated, strong, aggressive, yet delicate, prissy, yet ghetto if the situation permits, spontaneous, open-minded, intuitive, loyal, ambitious, genuine, stylish, sensitive, yet a warrior, impatient, good job, a car, and my own place. WHAT THE FUCK IS THE PROBLEM!!!

Why is it that my better half is having a hard time finding me? Is it all this heavy rain in Boston. Let me continue by saying that I'm not the type who needs a man, but I am reaching a point in my life where I would like to have one. I'm not perfect and I don't claim to be, but that doesn't mean that I am going to settle for less than what I deem perfect. You feel me? I know who I am and what I want, so why do men try to convince me otherwise? And, then when I don't fall for the ookey-doke, I'm the bad person...the big bad wolf. I will admit, I have a low threshold for BULL SHIT...put simply. I see straight through it sooner or later because most men are transparent as hell. And just because I don't call you on it from jump doesn't mean you've gotten over on me. It just means that then wasn't the time for me to bust your ass. I have my own agenda, too. Something I've learned in my 27 years on this earth is that no one cares about me more than I do. If I get a whiff of disloyalty your ass is out the door. I have sent up my prayer request of what I want and don't want. Nothing specific. Nothing like: dark-skinned...no particulars. More of a conceptual request...loves and accepts me for me, ambitous, loyal, trustworthy...those kind of things. Now, I know that God has a sense of humor or else he wouldn't have given me one...but he's teetering on cruel now...LOL! Like the guy that not only gives you a wedgie, but he gives you an Atomic Wedgie snapping your underwear over your head...he has went too far... (God I'm just playing. Don't strike down blogger)

Don't get me wrong, I'm blessed and highly favored, which he shows me every morning I open my eyes. But, damn...when is it my turn. I search for meaning in every aspect of my life. Without meaning life isn't worth living. So, I know that every romantic encounter is preparing me for something more. I know that I am who I am for a reason and it's not a mistake. So, I don't apologize for that. What I want to know: Why is it that I keep having encounters with people that aren't my type? I meet people that are the exact OPPOSITE of what I want. Yet, I give them a try to see if I'm being to picky or judgemental. I don't want to miss out on my blessings looking for Mr. Right. I'm starting to think he doesn't exist. I once heard that you attract who you are. To some degree I belive that, but then I think that's some bullshit....I attract total opposites of myself. If these people would have shown me their true colors from day one, there wouldn't have been a day two or three...you get the point. Which leads me to my next issue. Keeping it real.

Why are we so afraid to show the opposite sex who we really are? Why do we think we have to pretend to be someone else to gain their affection? Don't you realize that's stupid? I show you who I am from the beginning....take it or leave it. I see that most people choose to take it...I just don't want thier asses. I've been called genuine by both male and female friends...that's all I'm looking for in return. Men should come with labels so that we can read the contents and put thier asses back on the shelf if they prove to be determental to our healths. The label should tells us how many illegimate kids they have, whether or not they are really insecure, but front like they have it all together, do they secretly desire other men...you know, the kind of shit you find out after you've wasted 3-6 months of your time and energy. Spare me the trouble. I've done enough dating and fucking to not need some man as a space filler. I'm tired of being bamboozeled...hood winked!!! I feel like I need to check myself and see what I'm lacking that draws me to these wankstas in the first place. I'm not lonely in the true sense of the word...so, that can't be it. I'm actually very comfortable with me. For instance: I go out alone...and not because everyone is busy, but because I want to be with me some times. I like my company and the people I meet when I'm not with an entourage. Basically, I think it's because I don't want to walk around with a chip on my shoulder. I don't want to be the man hater. I try not to blame everyone for one man's indiscretions. But, every time I give a man the benefit of the doubt I feel like Homer Simpson...DOH!!!!

I guess I'm ranting to say...Don't come to me unless you're ready to lay ALL your cards on the table and be the real you. Don't come to me if you can't handle a woman that doesn't need you to validate her, but still wants you to be a man and protect her. Don't come to me if you are confused about your sexuality (another hot button issue that I'll leave for another post). Don't come to me if you think I'm going to change...I might not...

As a matter of fact, I think I'm going on a dating sabbatical...catch me in the fall...

Thanks for keeping up with my non-direction having thoughts....

My 115th Vacation This Year

Yes! I'm off again to sunny Miami Florida. Actually, I'm staying in Pompano, but I'll be in Fort Lauderdale and Miami...SoBe here I come!!! WOO-HOO! Everyone cross your fingers that my plane leaves on time today. It's raining here in Boston and Boston is known to delay a plane or two just because its Thursday. (((rolling my eyes))) So, I hope I don't into any static...otherwise, I'll have to drown my impatience in a couple of Martini's at Legal Seafood in the airport... I'm such a lush at times...LOL!

I hate going from work to the airport. Being the procrastinator that I am, I haven't packed a thing. SO, that means I have to leave extra early to make it home in time enough to pack and call a cab. Although, Independent Taxi is super quick. I've called them at 4 in the morning while I was zipping my suitcase and before I placed the suitcase on the floor they were outside honking...No Bullshit. I love service like that. So, now I call them as I'm walking out the house...LOL!

Anyway, today I'm running around the office building like a chicken with it's head cut off from meeting to meeting.

***Side note***
Who came up with the term, "running around like a chicken with it's head cut off"? Seriously, if a chicken had it's head cut off would it really be running? Things that make you go...hmmmm....A brief Arsenio Hall moment.
***Back to the random post***

I hate feeling rushed. Which is how I feel right now knowing that I don't have anything packed. Yet, the adrenline of rushing gives me a little tingle in a secret place ;) I'm a G, so I'll be okay. Although, I do need to stop at the gas station. I have no idea how much gas I have in my tank...LOL! My gas tank is a little suspect. I have a 99 Cavalier that I've had since 99...The Green Machine...I love my baby. She has gotten my through college, made a trip from Chicago to Boston and gets me around as needed. I have 130,000 miles on her and no problems, other than regular maintenance. I learned the importance of regular oil changes and tune-ups at the ripe age of 16 with the first car I bought (on my own, thank you). It was an 89 Hyundai...4 door, sun roof and all. I was coming from work and the car stopped...the engine locked up on me. I hadn't had an oil change that entire year...LOL! So, I take care of my baby. I enjoy the $300 a month I keep in my pocket because I don't have a car note. So, I plan on riding her until the wheels fall off. LONG LIVE THE GREEN MACHINE!!!! Anyway, what was I talking about...oh yeah...the gas tank. When I fill up my gas tank it shows full and everything is working properly. Then as the gas is driven out it slowly goes towards empty. This is the key...when it hits the half mark it rise back up to full as it's really getting empty...you follow me? Usually, when that happens and i start my car it begins at the real mark - under the half mark, but as I start driving it slowly creeps back up to full. I know that I'm on Empty when it creeps back up to full and doesn't go back down...LOL! I've been playing this game for about 3 years. Recently, I noticed that it's never leaving the full mark after I fill her up, so I don't know how much gas I have...LOL! I filled up late last week. I really didn't drive this weekend, so to be safe I'm going to get some gas today. LOL!!

Aside from the whole gas thingy I am waiting on someone to send me this presentation that I have to review then send to my boss' boss to review for a meeting I have to set-up for all of us when my boss is in town next week. My boss' boss, the GM, lives and operates in another state. She'll be here next week for a series of meetings and this is another that is pertinent to a huge project I'm on. I just checked everyone's calendars and none of our "free time" matches. WTF!!! So, this means that I'm going to have to start a series of emails between everyone to see if the calenders are up to date, see if time can be cleared, etc. This then means that I'll leave here today with unfinished business...meaning I have to be "plugged in" while in Flordia. I hate that I have a company issued laptop. They expect you to be accesible while out of the office. Corporate America...gotta love it!

I have said all of this to say...I'M OUT BITCHES!!!! Seriously, see you all next week. I might post during the weekend, but I never do when I'm out of town, so why lie. Holla at cha girl next week.

Tag: I'm It....

Courtesy of Nsane, I have been tagged. So, here goes nothing or something...take your pick...

1. If you could be doing what you really want to be doing for a living, what would it be?
I would be a part-time lawyer and part-time model. I have always wanted to delve into both professions. Being a lawyer is something I definitely intend on pursuing one day, but being a model is a fantasy. Not a runway model...I'm only 5"2, but a commercial or magazine model. I watch tv and think to myself...I can do that, but then doubt comes in and tells me I'm too old. We'll see.

2. If you could slap the shit out of any famous person, alive or dead, who would it be?
Marvin Gaye's father for killing his son!

3. What's the dumbest decision you've made in the past 5 years?
Where do I start?! Getting with my Ex the Maniac is the one that really sticks out in my mind. That relationship served absolutely NO PURPOSE! Every other seemingly dumb decision I've made has always had a lesson or reward attached, so I'm hesitant to mention them.

4. Give up one for a year: (good) sex or (good) music?
I would give up the good sex. I can always purchase a good vibrator and think about the good sex while I listen to some good music...

5. Dudes, would you rather have a big dick or a great sense of humor?Ladies, nice tits & azz or common sense? I already have it all :)

6. So you've been invited to an all expense paid Blogger Prom in The Bahamas. You're sitting at the bar on the beach. Which blogger do you want to join you for hours of good convo?
A blogger trip doesn't sound too bad...hmmmm....Well, this is a hard one as there are so many interesting people out there in the Blogsphere. I would round up the usual suspects and lead the discussion in something that would engage everyone. This would make for a night of unadulterated foolery!

7. Which blogger would you most like to cuddle with on the beach? (and don't defer to your current signif other either. Infidelity won't count against you. Duh.)
Another hard question. This would depend on how well the previous question's conversation went. Then we'll see who makes it to the beach ;)

8. You're going on a 5 hour road trip...which 5 CDs do you bring?
Jill Scott
Floetry
Dwele
Mix CD
Jigga (Blue Print)

9. Would you rather bury your children young or have your children bury you young?
WOW! It saddens me to think of that...

10. What's your biggest insecurity?
I don't think I know you all like that to be divulging insecurities and what not. LOL! I like to think I'm made of Teflon and I don't have any. No seriously, I have some lurkers on my blog that would love to see what makes me tick. Not this time, B!

11.What's the first blog you read every day...or however often you read them? (And I swear to God, don't be saying mine just cuz I'm the one asking...unless of course you really mean it. lol)
I always stop by Robert Mack's blog first to see if he decided to grace us with an entry. More often that not he doesn't ;-). Then I head over to Zed, Nsane, Missy, Slish, Royce's Daughter and Stilt, I definitely try to check them everyday. I have a laundry list of others I frequent...too many to list. Please belive I read everyone that reads me and then some.

12. When's the last time you peed your pants?
I honestly don't remember the last time I've done that. I'm sure it involved some alcohol and a low tolerance.

13. Which was better, your first kiss or your first pay check?
My first paycheck! Cuz if it don't make dollars then it don't make sense...

15. You get dropped off at home after the office holiday party by your bitch azz boss that you can't effing stand...you exit the car and he peels out, runs a red light at your corner and rolls up an unsuspecting midget. The next day the midget watch groups are on TV outraged at the heartless hit and run, and are calling for any witnesses to please come fwd...that half dead midget has a family at home waiting on C-mas presents. Would you take $1000 hush money? $500? $100? A six pack? I would tell on my stupid ass boss. Although, I currently like my real boss. But, that's neither here nor there. We need to help one another and I definitely belive in karma. So, I'm telling!

16. Live the rest of your life without your eyebrows or your fingernails?
I could do the no eyebrows. I would just wear a long bang in front or draw my eyebrows on.

17. What makes you angry?
People that can't drive, i.e. Boston drivers! People that lie for no reason. People that make their problems yours...you know, blame everyone else for their lame ass lives. Go around not taking responsibilty for their actions or situations. HELLO! You're fat because you don't get up from the table, not because your mother loves your sister more. You don't have a man because you stink, not because all men are gay. Give me a break with that Dr. Phil Shit!

18. What makes you horny?
Well shit...every thing at the right time of the month...LOL! The number one thing is Ambition!!! Mad props to Amil for that one. I get horny when a man runs his fingers in my hair. I get horny when it rains. I won't even mention porn (duh)! The list is too long to mention. Besides, while I'm on the beach with one of you bloggers you might try to use this against me ;)

19. What makes you nervous?
Giving presentations...my stomach churns so bad. Walking to my car or my house late at night without an escort. Physically aggresive men. I've had to clock a *African* or two. (Yeah, I'm biting off Zed) Results. Any test results. Its the wait. I was shaking in anticipation to see who was going to be America's Next Top Model...LOL!

20. What makes you smile?
Thoughts of my daughter. When I look around and realize just how blessed I am.

Well...There you go. I would tag some people, but they have already been tagged. SO, pay it forward. I have some stories to tell, but I'll save them for another day.

Guess Who's Bizaack

ME!!!

I have been so swamped at work and too tired when I make it home to blog. Nothing much has happened over the last week, though. I haven't read anyone's blog, so I feel so out of the loop. Damn! I hate when this happens....

Let's see...My trip to Chicago was nice, as always. I got to spend time with my family, namely my daughter. Yes, I do have a child...she's 11 and lives in Chicago. Grown! So, that's the reason I go home as frequently as I do. There are numerous reasons why she isn't living in Boston with me. A lot of them date back to me being 15, a junior in highschool and pregnant. (yeah, your girl was ahead of her age group in school) 11 years later, a lot of the reason has to do with me being a single mother with a job that requires me to travel and switch postions every 8 months. The more important reason is health related. I don't really feel like going into details...so, close your mouth, respect it and move on.

As I was saying, Chicago was a blast. I hung out with family and friends. I almost didn't come back to Boston...LOL! For real! I get like that when I go home. When I landed back in Boston last Tuesday I instantly got an attitude. I didn't get right until Saturday...It's that serious.

One freaky incident sticks out in my mind while in Chicago. Me and girls from around the crib went to this hood club on Saturday (May 27th). (I got stood up, so I went out with my girls) Its an old-time favorite that I've been going to since I was like 17 with a fake ID. It's on 63rd St. called the Taste...for my Chicago peeps that might know where I'm talking about. So, the Taste has opened this other side that they call the Zodiac room. It's free and the DJ is off the chain. So, about 7 of us met up to drink and dance. I've been knowing them for about 15 years, so its always refreshing to get together and Party and Bullshit. We walk in and this biker crew is there in full gear. I'm talking Harley type Route 66 type bikers....Leather jackets, boots and bandana's. As the night progresses I have to pee. SO, I get up go to the bathroom BY MYSELF and as I enter one of the diesel biker chicks comes in after me. She says and I quote, " That last stall is leaking". SO, me not knowing what the hell she's talking about I start looking on the floor for water and at the ceiling for a drip. So, I say, "I don't see any water". Then I go in the stall. I don't hear her go in the stall next to me or nothing. I'm thinking, okay...this bitch is tripping and if she tries something I'm going to have to run cuz she's a big one. I open the door all cautiously ready for a fight and she was gone. I'm standing there scratching my head like WTF just happened. Come to find out, she was using code for " Are you gay and do you get down". I had to talk to my lesbian cousin to figure out what happened and what the leak was all about. She almost got my bootie! What if I would have said, "It sure is", in response? I wouldn't have been able to fight her off. She was about 6 feet, thick and in leather...Think about Police Academy when they were in that dive bar...LOL! My prissy ass would have been toast...leaking toast I guess...LOL! All night she set at the bar staring at us. Crazy!

Here's another incident. That Sunday (May 28th) night I was almost on an episode of Cops. No bullshit. Its about 3:30 in the morning and I'm sitting on my porch with my brother, my next door neighbor, her cousin and my cousin. My brother's best friend, his girl, my step brother, and his two friends had just left. Everyone was just chilling, kicking the willybobo's (I took it back) smoking ( I don't smoke) and drinking...kicked back hood style. I've been living in that house for 20 years, so my family is well known in the area either through me, my brother and now my daughter because she has all her 10-11 year old friends. There are a lot of kids around my house...I digress. As I said, it's now 3:30 and we're still sitting there enjoy the night air finishing our drinks. First let me tell you that I stay on the SouthSide of Chicago one block over from a busy street in the hood. Not a slum hood, but the hood nevertheless. On the corner of the busy street there is a Harold's and a gas station. So, my block sometimes catches a lot of spill over drama...We're in mid sentence and we see this van come down my block the wrong way. (my block is a one-way and I live smack dab in the middle, so I can see pretty much everything from one end to the other...corner to corner)The van is flying. Instinctively, we all dive on the porch because the van is being chased by the police and it slows right in front of my house. By this time, I yell run in the house. I mean he jumped out the van in front of my house and ran. It could have gotten ugly real quick and I didn't want to be caught in any of it. We all pour in the house. It's so funny, you would think that with all the adrenline running we would have been pushing and shoving...Nope! We ran in a single file line...everyone except my brother who made sure we were in and then he turned and went back on the porch. We're peeking out the window because the van has rolled to a stop in front of the house next door after dude jumped out. It's a blessing no cars were hit because he bailed and left this chick in the van to steer. When I say I have never seen this many police at one time in person I mean it. I counted 15 police and detectives with guns drawn. By now we're back on the porch being nosy and keeping their asses honest...You never know when another Rodney King moment might jump off. Ole' girl hoppes out the van with no shoes. Her story was, mind you we could hear and see everything. She didn't know him, he asked her to run to the gas station with him, she didn't know why he was running all she knew is he ran a stop sign, jumped out the car and left her to steer it. Bullshit! They searched my block and other blocks for about an hour. Let me tell you what dude did. When we were running in the house he jumped out hopped the fence and ran toward the busy street, came back around the block, ran back pass my house, hopped the fence again and bounced...LOL! WTF! HOW! I know this because I heard one officer telling the other what happened. When he bailed he had on a white tee, when he came back he was shirtless. How embarrassing for the Chicago PD? So, of course all the police out there interrogated ole' girl, who kept telling them her mother was a cop and she didn't know dude. By the end, they let her go and made her walk home...LOL! So, she's walking down the street with no shoes yelling at them, " I told ya'll bitch ass she was a cop and your didn't believe me! Suck my dick! I'm calling all ya'll asses in!" She was yelling their badge numbers out and everything! I 'm sitting on the porch cracking up! Only in the hood...

Those were just 2 of my Chi-town adventures, but I'm going to stop there. This post is already too long.

Oh, but I did have a cell phone malfunction...again! What else is new?! As soon as I got off the plane last week my phone wouldn't work right. They had to send me another one, yet again. This is cell #3 in a month and an half. I told them to keep the Nokia 9300 and they sent me an HP iPAQ hw6515. I was trying to upload the picture, but blogger is acting funny. It's a better version of what I had. Microsoft Windows operating system. This one has a camera, GPS and vibrate...unlike the Nokia. I'm done now. No more changing...

I'm going to read up on everyone. I feel so disconnected.
