Recap Continued

So, where was I ...

Oh yeah...

Friday (23rd)

Work was work. Nothing much out of the ordinary happened there.

After work I met up with my girl Roxie for dinner and drinks at my new favorite place, Red Fez. The dinner was good. It would have been awesome if I hadn't ordered my duck medium. (Note to self: order your duck like you order your beef, medium well) This place makes the best drinks, though. They have this one drink called the Madagascar. It's Vanilla Vodka, Champagne and real lime juice. It tastes better than it sounds...trust me. Anyway, we just ate and caught up with one another and filled each other in on the stories of our lives. Then a few other people met up with us and we ended the night at my old favorite place, Pho Republic. If you're ever in Boston go there and get the Pineapple Kung Pao Chicken...it's magnificient.

On the ride home, I called up Oakland for some late night drunk conversation...he didn't answer. So, then I called Unexpected Twist for the same thing and he didn't answer. They both get a pass because it was almost 3 in the morning.

Needless to say, I made it home safely and had a good nights sleep.

Saturday (24th)

This was the day of the Jazz fest that I was too hung over to participate in. When I woke up that afternoon I was fine. Oakland returned my call from the previous night and we talked for a while. Then I ate and it was a wrap. My stomach started bubbeling and I felt like I needed to pray to the porcelin god over and over again. I told myself had to just lay down for a few more hours. Next thing I know it's like 8 at night. A whole damn Saturday wasted...I got's to be more careful.

So, my girl who I will call "Dora the Explorer" (because he head is shaped like the cartoon character, although she's not hispanic), had one of her friends in town for the weekend. She named me the "Party Director", so I had to go out even though I really wasn't feeling up to it. See, Dora is only here for a short period of time and has only been here for a few weeks. So, she has no clue what to do in Boston. Truthfully, I almost bailed on her because I ate again at like 9 and my stomach instantly started aching along with a headache. Never one to miss a good party...I ended up in the club!

So, me and Esha meet up with Dora and her friend at the club. This is the first time since I have lived here that this club has ever been packed. I mean the place was wall to wall. One problem, though. Everyone is standing around looking at everyone else. No one is really dancing. The only people on the dance floor were couples and girls that were hot in the ass. You can spot them anywhere. They're usually the one's bent over touching their toes grinding on some guys mid-section...LOL! I make a b-line for the bar...headache and all. I was told that the only way to kill a hangover is to have another drink and this was the perfect opportunity to test that logic.

So, I get my drink and stand like everyone else is. The music is good and the people actually look good for once, but no one is moving. This has to have been the worst time I ever had in a room full of people. At one point this guy leads me to the dance floor...Cool! Then he wants me to turn around so he can dance all on my butt. Ummm...no thank you. I didn't come out the house looking all good for your non-descript ass to start grinding on my backside. So, I tell him something close to that. Then he's like...Baby, I'm from the islands and that's how we dance. I tell him, well I'm from Chicago and that's how you get hurt. We laugh it off...and we continue to dance. He wants to pull me close in the front. Let me say this...I had on a mini skirt. We can't be dancing all intertwined like that, my skirt will come up. So, I tell him that and he calls me a tease...LOL! He wasn't mad or anything, but he said that he couldn't dance with me because I was a tease. A yound nigga trying to get his rocks off...straight comedy!!! All night long every time he saw me he whispered "tease" in my ear. He's right to a certain degree....I like to dance alone more often than not. I think I look good dancing and don't need any extra props to get my groove on. And, on those occasions that I do dance with someone all up close and personal it will be someone I know or someone I want to know better...you feel me.

So, the night continues and I see this guy I dated briefly...we will call him Toy Cop.

*****Background on Toy Cop*****

I know Toy Cop through a friend. I first met him in early 2004. I thought he was cute and he thought the same, but I was dating his roommate's friend. So, when he sent word through our mutual friend that he was interested I kindly turned the advance down citing the above mentioned fact. After his roommate's friend and I stopped dating I met Oakland in May and we started dating heavily. Well, on Halloween me and Toy Cop's mutual friend threw a halloween party and we saw each other again. So, one day I get an email from Toy Cop...someone had given him my email address and everything. So, we chit chat and see that both he and I would be in Chicago for Thanksgiving and we make plans to hang out. Yes, Oakland knew about it we were going through our "space" faze. We had one quarterly (((rolling my eyes)) Anyway, I get to Chicago and he comes and scoops me up from my mother's house and we go to the Shedd Aquarium and see the dolphins...they are so cute. As he's taking me home he asks if I mind going by his parents house. I'm thinking like, that's odd, but okay. First we go by his father's house then we go by his mother's house. He has me meeting his entire family like I'm his girlfriend. They're asking us how we met and how I seem like a good woman it's about time he has settled down, blah, blah, blah. I just smile and nod thinking this is weird.

We make it back to Boston and then I see that I have met a compulsive liar. I know you all are wondering why I have named him Toy Cop. Well, he told me he was a police officer. Okay, I saw the badge on Halloween, but when I asked him where his gun was he said that he can take a man down with his hands, so he doesn't carry it off duty. Ummmmm...okay. So, coincidentally I meet a real police officer that happens to know Toy Cop and he tells me that dude is not a real police officer, but is in fact a PEACE officer. This means that he transports criminals to and from prison, he sits in the hospitals when a criminal is injured. You know when they are doing construction on the highway and you see a police presence...that's probably him. Peace officers are not licensed to carry guns while off duty, which is why he didn't have it then...while he's walking around here like he's some super hero jumping buildings in single bounds and shyt! I respect his job, I just don't respect the lie. One day this fool calls me up talking about...Do you need a ride to the airport, because I can blue light you the entire way...LOL! I damn near threw up in my mouth laughing. That's just one of the many lies he told. Needless to say, I stopped returning his calls.

*****Back to the story*****

So, I see him at the club and he strikes up conversation after walking by me 1500 times. He tells me that his mother asked about me. Why would this lady be concerned about me? I met her one time on a fluke in 2004...gimme a break. I ended the conversation real bluntly and bid him a farewell. We exited the club stage right and went home disappointed.

Update: This fool text messages me Monday (26th) talking about it was good seeing me and he would I like to have dinner sometimes. My evil twin Destiny wanted to text his ass that I would be busy washing my hair for the rest of my life, so I can't make it. But, my nice side, Dynasty-the usual me- took over and I just ignored the text.

I'm about to go out to dinner with my roommate Naive (that describes her personality and lack of experience, although she is a very smart woman) and Dora, so I'll sum up the remainder of the days tomorrow.

Recap since my last blog...

Once again, I have been told that I do not blog enough courtesy of Conscious. It's not that I don't have anything to talk about, it's really that I don't have time. So, I decided to write a recap of what has been going on with me. I promise to try harder! This is going to be a long one...

Let's see the last time I blogged was the 20th (Tuesday). So.....

Wednesday (21st)

I went to work...nothing really interesting to report there...the fun didn't start until I made it home. So, I tell the guy who I referred to in a previous blog about space, Unexpected Twist (that's how I'll refer to him for various reasons that I choose not to post), that I would be making Burritos and he was more than welcome to come over, just bring a bottle of wine.

Anyway, he comes over and we eat, watch television and drink wine. So, of course things start to get a little heavy and we take it to the bedroom. Honestly, I have to say that night I experienced the best sex ever from him. We've only slept together 4 times total and the first 3 times on a scale of 1-10 ranged between 4-5, mainly because I never had an orgasm while indulging. This time was slightly different...it was actually blog worthy. He ranked a 7...although, I still had to orgasm manually! But, at least this time I had something to work with.

Afterward, we were laying up all sex funky and exhausted chit chatting about this and that. So, the topic drifts toward oral sex and swallowing...YUCK, right? WRONG! He wants to know have I ever done that. No, I haven't. Will I ever? It's not something I'm aspiring to. We have the usual scenerio discussion...well, what would you do if a guy just does it? Have you heard of Lorraina Bobbitt by any chance negro! So, then he asks me...(drum roll please)...will you swallow for me?

*****PAUSE******

WTF!!! Is he serious? Is he really looking at me with a straight face asking me this dumb ass question?!? Let me give you a little background into the nature of this relationship. Not even a week before this incident I told him we needed to cool off because we wanted two different things out of life right now. He agreed that we weren't exactly on the same page. I'm looking for something serious, he's looking for a friendship with benefits. Over the course of several conversations we decided to just be friends. So when we slept together Wednesday it was a slip up and not intended. And, now you have the nerve to ask me this...see, you give a man an inch they take a mile.

*****BACK TO THE STORY*****

After he asked me that, I propped up on one elbow looked at him and said...(drum roll please)..." Hell no! I'm not swallowing for an arbitrary nigga I'm just fucking with!" Pick your mouth up off the floor. Anyone that knows me should know that I don't pull any punches. At first he laughed like damn that's real then I think it dawned on him that I just put his azz in his place. That's when the attitude began. He was livid. Telling me that I'm rude and disrespectful. Stop the muthafucking press!!! You just asked if I would swallow your nasty ass nut and I'm disrespectful? Yeah okay. Not to mention this is the same guy that in a previous conversation told me that he wasn't ready for a relationship, but if his ex came back he would be with her. So, basically I'm an arbitrary chick you're fucking with until she stops fucking around and takes you back. I didn't trip. I just dropped his sensitive ass down my list of priorites and kept it moving. Let's call a spade a spade. I can be nice, but I'm not stupid and now you're insulting my intelligence.

So, I roll over and go to sleep leaving him stewing in his well deserved juices...

Thursday (22nd)

Usually Unexpected Twist and I talk over email during the work day. This particular morning he hasn't said anything to me, so I start the conversation asking is he still mad. Of course he is...LOL! He's mad because, according to him, I'm rude and mean. Even if I do feel like that I should have been more tactful in my approach. Granted, what I said wasn't tactful, but he deserved it. He tried to get over on me and play me short and I told him where he really can get off at. Now he can't take it. So, I apologized for hurting his feelings making sure he does realize that I meant it. He told me I should think before I speak. I do think before I speak to people I feel deserve that level of respect. If you're going to ask me some dumb shit like that and tell me basically that all you want to do is mess around...what is there for me to think about? We deal by my rules not yours. The game changed when he told me that he would get back with his ex, but he doesn't want a relationship that's when it became official that he thought I was stupid. I'm not rude you're just insignificant is going to be my new motto. Perhaps, I'll get it printed on a shirt! We decided to squash it.

After work I went and got my hair done. My beautician flipped it for me. He had it looking good as usual. Unbeknowst to me, the shop was having a re-grand opening...goes to show how much attention I pay and I go to the shop every 2 weeks. One of the stylist bought the shop a few months back, so she wanted to have an open house kind of soiree...So, I got a free gift- some Kera Care conditioning scalp something. I had a drink, ate a little food and bounced.

When I left there I picked up Tenderoni. A little background: Tenderoni is this guy who is interning at GE and staying with my old roommate Crazy. She found him through rent.com and he's here until December then he goes back to North Carolina to finish his last year in college. He is 21 years old. A little too young right? Anyhoo...I met him Tuesday when she and I met up after work for a drink. She brought him along with her. I invited him to go with me to this Kappa sponsered networking event since he didn't know anyone and Crazy would be out of town. Okay that's not the only reason...he's fine...nice athletic strong build, brown skin, full lips, nice smile, articulate conversation. The whole package. I took this opportunity to help him get acclimated and to learn more about him. The event was tonight, so I scooped him up.

We make it to the place and basically seperate. I knew a lot of people in the place and I had to go mingle, although I did introduce him around so that he could acquire some contacts. As the evening progresses he makes his way back around to me and asks me if I'm hungry. We grab a table in a corner that will allow us to chit chat and still see everything. The conversation was cool, although he did most of the talking. Telling me about his upbringing, his goals, his 5 year plan, so on and so on. I mean this man is a walking interview. I guess that's good to be 21 and have a vision and some direction. I mean when I graduated college all I knew is that I needed a job. I'm just now realizing what I really want to do.

Then, he hits me with his 21 year old game.

Tenderoni: I just came out to be around you. From the moment I saw you I knew I wanted to get to know you better. You are smart and beautiful, not to mention you have the sexiest mouth in Boston. (Am I going to have to crack this nigga, too?) I would tell you more, but I'm sure you're used to men blowing your head up, so I'll leave it at that.

Me: Well, thank you. But, you're too young and I don't do long distance relationships.

T: Age isn't nothing but a number. I have this and this going for me. All the women I date are usually older than me. I'll be here until December, which is enough time to get to know each other and by then you'll change your mind.

Me: All of that sounds good, but didn't I hear that you had a girlfriend, too?

Him: I mean technically I do, but it's not that serious. I'm just dealing with her because I don't have anyone else. She's too young and immature. All we do is argue and she stresses me out.

Me: NEXT!!!!

What is it with these men? Do, they all read from the same book of bullshit? Seriously!

Needless to say, I dropped his ass off at home...

I will have to relive my weekend tomorrow. I gotta go...

Surprise, surprise

Last night a person dear to my heart popped up in town...Oakland. He was in town on business and thought he would surprise me. I was EXTREMELY surprised...almost to the point of tears. I miss him....

I have not seen this man since he left Boston in June...although, we do talk weekly. Imagine my surprise when I get a call asking me if I want company. I'm like...OoooKkkkk have you created some kind of teleportation device that will transport you across the country in a matter of minutes? He's like I'll be there in 15 minutes. I decide that I'm going to call his bluff, so I say "Well, I'm going to wait until you get here before I leave for Slades". I'm thinking, if he's joking then he'll have to say it or else I'd be sitting here forever. Then I'm going to fly to Cali and kill him for playing!

Lo and behold, I get a knock on the door and it's Oakland. I screamed and jumped into his arms!!! I felt like a kid on Christmas that just opened up her new Cabbage Patch doll. My friend is here!

Don't get me wrong...me and this man have been through hell and highwater together. We actually fell out really bad the night before he moved backed to Cali. Partly, because we both knew this was the end of us as we knew it. No more arguing and making up. No more...so, do you want some company? No more, meet me at this spot. No more, early morning conversation while I'm on my way to work and he's still in bed because now when I'm on the road at 7am it's only 4am in Cali. More importantly, we have been through good times and have supported each other through trying times.

Regardless of what we have or have not done the one thing that has remained the same is our friendship, which I am most proud of. We were friends for the year that we were together and we are friends now. We were each other's support system in boring, cold, backwards Boston. Whenever I felt alone I knew he was there to put up with my idiotic and sometimes irrational behaviour. He was always there to wipe my tears when I cried and give me words of confidence whenever I needed them. He was the first to congratulate me on the promotion I worked so hard for. I mean we can be supportive of each other across 3000 miles, but a hug just doesn't reach that far.

When I saw him...it was weird, though. Weird because I didn't feel any of the romantic emotions I used to feel in the past when I just had to have him. I have moved on. I am no longer emotionally attached to him the way I used to be. I love him dearly...I'm just not IN love with him anymore. Could I ever love him again? Yes. If he was to come back and try to rekindle a relationship would I be willing to give it a try? Perhaps. But, for now I'm content with our friendship.

This is why every relationship has to have a solid friendship as a foundation. If and when the relationship ends, the friendship will still be there. At least in this case it is...

Space...

Question of the day: Why do people run from a good thing?

I mean, we walk around here talking about - all I want to be is happy, then as soon as we are happy we start sabotaging stuff. Do we not believe that we really deserve to be happy? Or is the term "happiness" so foreign that we can't function while under it's spell?

Ok...so, you're seeing someone. You all are having a good time...2-3 hour phone conversations, inside jokes, cooked meals at home, etc. Then all of a sudden...BAM!...the shit hits the fan. The person that you have grown so fond of over the last few weeks or months suddenly does a complete 180 and you're like WTF! Then you sit down and talk about the imagined problem only to discover there is NO PROBLEM. The person is just trying to create some space.

Space? Well, why in God's name do you need space? Space from what? It's not like the person is being hounded. And, when you ask them should you leave them alone, they immediately say NO. Because in actuality they enjoy your company far too much to really enforce this said space. Well, what is this space you are alluding to. All at once thunder rolls and the heavens part. A light shines down on the real reason for this so-called space and miny tantrum that was recently thrown...the person likes you too much. You all started this union going with the flow, but nobody ever thinks the flow is going to feel so good or flow right into a relationship. But, if it does what's the big frigging deal?!

Besides, what makes you think I'm ready for a relationship anyway? Because I'm a woman and we usually want a relationship. True, I am a woman. Not true, that I want a relationship at this particular moment. Don't get me wrong...I have a fantasy that my knight in shining armor is going to come along and wisk me away on his white horse named Snow, but I haven't decided if you're that knight and I'm not even sure if I like horses! So, put the assumptions in your back pocket and continue going with the flow. Remember that song...I think it was by Whodini...it said...if it ain't broke don't fix it, just relax and let it flow, DON'T ROCK THE BOAT!!!!

That's all I'm saying. I like you, you like me...enough said. Let's keep it elementary, my darling...If you like me: check the box yes or no. One day we'll cross that bridge. But, please stop running ahead of me trying to burn the damn bridge down....

What just happened?!

That was the recurring theme of my Friday...

First, this guy that I'm dating completely flipped out on me causing me to ask...What just happened?! He crossed a line that is drawn in the sand of every relationship...flirting with the significant other's friend. I have red shirted niggas for less! He says he was just playing and being friendly. That's cool, but I don't play like that. True it was over email and true she is in another state and true she is getting married in 4 weeks, but none of that matters. I'm not insecure, nor do I believe that someone I call my friend would entertain the idea of hooking up with my guy, but there are somethings I'm not standing for and this is one of them. It's all about boundries and I feel like they were crossed. Let's put it like this...when I told her that he and I were dating she was shocked because of the obvoius flirtation that was going on. Like I told him, the conversation that was taking place over email raised a red flag in my mind and it made me uncomfortable. There are somethings you just don't do. We are adults, so by now we should be able to control our impulses and use better judgement when doing or saying things. When i mentioned it I expected an apology, some understanding...oh, my bad it wasn't like that or something. What I got was...I'm sorry you feel that way. WTF!!! What kind of sorry ass apology is that? Do men really think that works? To add insult to injury he had the nerve to tell me that he was through with the conversation, he didn't feel like arguing and this is silly. (((rolling my eyes))) Now, if I was 16 instead of 26 I might have fell for that line of bullshit. But, because game recognizes game I knew he was trying to pull the classic role reversal. You know what I'm talking about...when men try to flip the script and make you seem, feel, or think you're crazy so that you'll just drop it. Been there, done that...try a new trick! So, my response to his obvious smoke screen was to tell him that my prescription eyeglasses turn into night goggles, so I can see straight through his bullshit. So, is that how you end a conversation? Him: NO. So, when 2 adults discuss something that's arguing? Him: NO. So, me telling you that something you've done has offended me and made me uncomfortable is silly? Him: NO. Well you have a good evening, then. I hung up the phone thinking...What just happened?!

Next, I decide not to let one monkey stop my show. I meet up with some friends for drinks and dinner. I had a good time. That ended at about 11:30 and some of us wanted to keep the party going. So, we leave there and meet-up with some more friends at Cosmopolitan. We get there and it really doesn't look like anyone is there, so we all decide to walk to Sanctuary to have a drink and give Cosmopolitian time to fill up. Let me start byt saying that Sanctuary is a white club. When we walk in Sanctuary my boy Greg says the first round is on me. WORD! Ok, let me run to the ladies room real quick. I get back to the bar and I see my drink. Anyone that knows me knows that I drink Grey Goose with a SPLASH of pineapple juice. I see this yellow drink on the bar and I'm ready to send it back. So, I tell the bartender...this white chick...that I need my drink made over. So, she's questioning me about why and I tell her that its too much juice...end of story. Well, she starts giving me a hard time and huffing and puffing. So, I'm ready to speak to the manager because I don't need this. Greg is over to the side schmoozing with the bitch like she's in the right. So, she does make my drink over and what happens, Greg knocks it out of my hand...WTF! Can a sister wet her whistle or what. So, now I'm just like I don't want a damn drink. Greg tells her to make me another one...the bitch brings me another yellow drink trying be funny obviously. I slide it back at her ass and it knocks over...okay...I kind of pushed it. Do you know that she called security and told them I threw a drink at her!!! If I threw a drink at her she would be wet and would have had to leave for the day because I would have tried to burn her eyes out with pineapple juice...hell that was the only thing in the damn glass anyway! So, when I tell them what happened all the bouncers are agreeing and seeing my point of view, but that's not good enough. I want a new drink and an apology. One bouncer tells me that I can go downstairs and get a new drink, but she's not going to apologize...okay...go get the manager. Somebody is going to apologize because this is unacceptable. Do you know they had the nerve to send the black bouncer over to tell me to leave? LOL!!! I told his azz that I wasn't going anywhere. I have a right to good service seeing as though my money is paying his salary and that it was a shame that the token nigga had to come over and do the dirty work. If anyone should be reprimanded for what happened it would need to be her and if I had to leave she was to. Now, I know that she isn't leaving...she's at work. My point was to raise enough hell to where they were going to have to get the manager and rectify the situation or they were going to have to call the police and then I was pressing charges on the bitch behind the bar and anyone of them fools that touched me because I wasn't doing anything. I know enough people that are connected to where it wouldn't have ended there. He saw I wasn't leaving and the started towards the bar towards her. This is when I really got pissed. All the guys I was with were trying to pull me out the club talking about let's just go. WTF? Saying you know how these white people are, you know Sanctuary is racist. No, I don't know how white people are because I demand respect and more often than not I get it. I'm pissed because they were okay with the treatment. Living in Boston is like living in a sophisticated version of the south. Not going back to places that are racist isn't enough. Hell, they don't want us there anyway. You have to force change. Demand change or change will never come. Well, Greg and Adrian stayed behind and from what they tell me the manager did come and apologize and gave them their money back. I should have been the one apologized to, but I wasn't because these punk ass Bostonians carried me out the club kicking and screaming. Got me standing outside looking around thinking...what just happened?

So, we go back to Cosmopolitian and I'm fuming. I got this aura like I will cut you if you say the wrong thing. I just walked in the club and left the guy at the front calling after me. I wish I would pay. You better hope you don't catch the backlash from the bullshit I just had to endure. Cosmo was cool....finally some people with some color. I'm on the dance floor, doing what I do and feel someone push me. I don't say anything because I'm like maybe I'm about to bump into someone and they are using their hands to kind of hold me at bay. So, I'm steady dancing and I feel it again. I still don't say anything. So, the chick does it again. I turn around and there is like a foot inbetween us. I am no where near bumping into her. She's standing there trying be cute with her girls. I look her dead in the eye and tell her ass not to put her hands on me again. I waited a second to see if she was going to get froggish she didn't, so I continued to dance. I'm not a shyt starter, but I don't take no shyt either. If I would have turned around and I was really almost touching her I would have apologized and moved. But, I wasn't. This is a club. If you want 3 feet of space all around you take your ass home. Not to mention, you are side lining the dance floor, so if anything you're in my way because I'm dancing. I swear these chicks kill me. Always trying a sister. I guess because I'm short, light-skinned, petite, well kept and attractive they think they can say or do some shit and I'm going to be cool about it. Think again. Plus, I was pissed anyway from Sanctuary!!! When I looked again, her and her friends had moved altogether...LOL!

Then, there was this other dude in the club that I was suppose to be talking to. I'll call him Puerto Rico. Well, we have been friends for a year and during the time I was with someone who as since moved to LA. I'll call him Oakland because that's where he is from. I'll mention him sooner or later in my blogging life time...I digress. So, when I seen Puerto Rico at a cook-out he decided to let me know how felt..cool. He's cute, educated, well-versed, funny, not to mention a friend or associate so I know how he really is. So, we start talking periodically over the phone. Then I went to Chicago for the holiday and he went to the Vineyard and we checked each other when the holiday was over. So, last night I see him and give him a hug and he was kind of standoffish. So, I ask him is he here with someone or something and he says no, but he was acting funny. Then he watches me the whole night. I ignored his ass for the rest of the night. And, plan on doing that forever. I know it seems harsh, but I don't have time to waste pondering the idiotic behaviour of men. You give me the cold shoulder when I see you out...you won't get that chance again...demoted back down to associate status...it's that simple.

After that we all went over to Chau Chow City. That was my first time going there and the food was pretty good. I woke up this morning with a hang over...I still feel all BLAH!

Tonight, I'm going out again and I can't wait to see what happens. I'm wearing my invisible shield that bounces bullshit right off me...brush my shoulders off.

So, I hope I have provided some good commentary about last night. To those of you that keep telling me to get to blogging...I'm back...LOL!
