Re-UNITED & it feels so good

I got reunited with my luggage today. UNITED Airlines ''misplaced'' it on my way back into Boston last night. I know, I know...I'm forever going some where. Thankfully, it was delivered to me at work this afternoon...after I almost made a girl cry on the phone. You should have heard the relief in her voice when she told me that my luggage had arrived in Boston and would be delivered promptly. You would have thought her life depended on it. Well, it did.

Speaking of me being out of town this weekend, I made a little impromptu visit to my Special Someone. It wasn't unplanned per se, but I didn't get the bright idea to visit until last week, so that's kind of spontaneous...right? I wanted to go and visit so bad to make sure we really meshed. I've learned my lesson about wasting time with out of town men only to realize you are better over the phone than in person. Needless to say, the weekend went off without a hitch. Ok, ok, without any major glitches.

We are two vastly different people. He's a Virgo and I'm an Aries. That speaks volumes. He's calmer, cool and collected...I'm a fire cracker! He likes math, I like to read. The differences in our personalities go on and on and on. Some people think it's best to be with someone just like you. I'm not sure that I subscribe to that philosophy, though. Why do I need someone just like me? What do I learn from that relationship? Where is the growth in that? I won't even mention the fun and excitement. I like to learn new things, go new places, meet new people. Break up the monotony! Look at it like this...What would peanut butter be without jelly? Just a plain ole peanut butter sandwich that sticks to the roof of your mouth. You feel me?

So, I enjoyed our different perspectives colliding this weekend. And, I look forward to a lot more ummmm...collisions.

Friday Me, Me, Me

I lifted this from T.Cass by way of 1969... Enjoy!

1. You can flip a switch that will wipe any band or musical artist out of existence. Which one will it be?

Britney Spears!

2. You have the opportunity to sleep with the movie celebrity of your choice. We are talking no-strings-attached sex and it can only happen once. Who is the lucky celebrity of your choice?

Will Smith. I hear he's into freaky ish...

3. You have the opportunity to sleep with the music-celebrity of your choice. Who do you pick?

M.E.T.H.O.D Man!

4. Now that you've slept with two different people in a row, you seem to be having an excellent day because you just came across a hundred-dollar bill on the sidewalk. Holy shit, a hundred bucks! How are you gonna spend it? At this very moment?

On a new coat. I'm into coats/jackets right now.

5. You just got a free plane ticket to anywhere. You have to depart right now. Where are you gonna go?

I'm feeling real Italian right now...So, Italy!

6. Upon arrival to the aforementioned location, you get off the plane and discover another hundred-dollar bill. Shit! Now that you are in the new location, what are you gonna do?

Buy a few bottles of wine. I hear they drink wine like water over there.

7. The Angel of Death has descended upon you. Fortunately, the Angel of Death is pretty cool and in a good mood, and it offers you a half-hour to do whatever you want before you bite it. Whatcha gonna do in that half-hour?

Spend it with my daughter.

8. You accidentally eat some radioactive vegetables. They were good, and what's even cooler is that they endow you with the super-power of your choice! What's it gonna be?

There are so many Super-Powers to choose from. I think I would like to read minds. I'm a very skeptical person and this would remove any doubts in my mind about peoples intentions and true feelings.

9. You can re-live any point of time in your life. The time-span can only be a half-hour, though. What half-hour of your past would you like to experience again?

I would relive the moment I walked across the stage graduating from college. I am the only person on my mother's side of the family to do that.

10. Rufus appears out of nowhere with a time-traveling phone booth. You can go anytime in the PAST. What time are you traveling to and what are you going to do when you get there?

I would go back to 16th century England. I am in love with that Era for some strange reason. I read and watch everything I can that deals with Henry VIII and the Tudor reign.

11. You can erase any horrible experience from your past. What will it be?

When I was nearly raped at gunpoint in my apartment. I made it out unscathed, but I still can't sleep through the night and that was 3 years ago.

12. You got kicked out of the country for being a time-traveling heathen who sleeps with celebrities and has super-powers. But check out this cool shit...you can move to anywhere else in the world! Bitchin'! What country are you going to live in now?

This is a really hard question. Anywhere hot for real. I can't pinpoint a place.

13. The constant absorption of magical moonbeams mixed with the radioactive vegetables you consumed earlier has given you the ability to resurrect the dead famous-person of your choice. So which celebrity will you bring back to life?

Martin Luther King, Jr. He was a wonderful leader that was able to unite races. Imagine what he would or could be doing today.

14. What's your theme song?

Wishful Thinking - Vivan Green, Love Story

[Verse 1]
All I wanna do
Is wake up every morning and be happy and be care free
And all I wanna do
Is love my man and make sure my family is okay
And I wanna sing,
The songs that I write in my head On a stage, in a big place
And I wanna laugh
Until tears fall down my face and my abs, are aching
Is that too much to ask...

A Lil Dis & Dat

In the comments of the last post I tried to respond to everyone's comments, but Blogger was acting up. What else is new? So, to all of you...thank you for stopping by and participating in the discussion on routines...

Today I am full of randomness. My mind is in so many places that I'm unable to form a complete post that makes sense. So, I'll do what many of you have done and write a random post with random thoughts.

How much do you think it costs to get my gas gauge fixed?

I ran out of gas this morning on my way to work. I felt like Lupe Fiasco! Kick, Push, Coast... I know some of you are thinking that I'm very irresponsible for riding around with an empty tank, but that's not the COMPLETE case. True, I was on empty, but I can never be 100% sure because my gas gauge is broken. No matter how much gas I have in my tank it reads FULL! Usually, I remember when I last got gas and when I'll need it again. This time it completely escaped me and I found myself sitting under an overpass on route 1 in morning traffic. I made it to work a little after 9.

Why are people filled with so much hate?

Why do they feel the need to take you down with them?

I can't wait until my daughter and I are in the same place.

Why are people so self consumed? Then they wonder why you don't tell them anything about you! Hello, what have you asked me about me? Not a damn thing.

Over the last few days 3 people have told me that I am not a very open person. One person even said that I think I'm more open than I actually am. Don't they understand that every person has a story that has shaped who they are? If you really want me to open-up show me instead of telling me. I do things when I'm ready and not a moment sooner.

Why isn't everyone's family close? I mean, why is it that some people can have the best relationships in the world with their family, but others cry at night because they think no one cares.

My stomach is killing me. I have been to the little girl's room about 6 times today. What the hell did I eat?! I hope it feels better by tomorrow.

Do I look like Susie Sausage head or Boo Boo The Fool? Or maybe I was just born yesterday. Run that game by someone else. I may not say anything from the beginning to see how far you're going to go with it, but rest assured I'm hip to your shit. I give you just enough rope to hang yourself.

I've been thinking about getting Lasik. Any survival stories out there in Blogland?

This guy across from me is talking soooo loud. I just want to cut his vocal cords forcing him to mouth all his words! He's a nice guy, though.

Where in the hell did the summer go?! I didn?t get the memo that it would get this cold so soon. Me and Mother Nature are going to have to talk.

I wonder if people can tell that I've been crying...

I never told you the end to my OMNI Hotel debacle. They sent me 2 free weekends passes to stay at their hotel anywhere in the country besides NYC. I'm going to use one in Las Vegas for the All Star Game. Me and my line sisters are meeting up there. So, some if them can stay with me for free. I can't fit all 12 of them in the room...Actually I could. We've been in tighter spots together!

Thanks for trying to be there for me. I'll let you in soon enough. AND, I AM NOT MEAN!

Natural Routines

So, I was talking with a Special Someone last night. We were having one of our marathon conversations. You know the kind of conversations that last for at least 2 hours. The topics range from current events to favorite sex positions to something stupid one of you said the other day. All while you're on the phone you're looking at the TV, but really not watching it. You're posted up comfortably in your bed, night clothes on, ready to end your night in your comfort zone...talking to Him.

We got on the topic of "Routines". Routines are habits you form with someone that you've become comfortable with. These routines can consist of something major like saying I Love You at the end of every conversation or something as small as meeting up to watch CSI every week. See, routines aren't that hard to fall into. It's just like your favorite pair of pajamas...comfortable.

My question is: Can routines harm a relationship? Especially a new relationship where you are still trying to figure each other out...

SS's (Special Someone) point was that when the routine is broken waves form in the relationship. The recipient of the broken routine starts to think the breaker is on some bullshit or doesn't want to be bothered or even worse, somewhere dead because he/she didn?t call like usual. I added that one for the dramatic people...LOL!

I agree and see his point of view, BUT... His perspective assumes that the recipient of the broken routine is insecure or incapable of reasoning. Shit happens. We may talk on the phone every night for 143 days straight, but one of us may not be available on the 144th day. Why should that cause a problem? So, does that mean we should start playing games and not do what comes naturally out of fear a routine may form??? I'm, confused.

I also took from his argument and the infliction in his voice that he thought WOMEN were the ones that let routines go to their heads. See men fail to see the big picture. If a woman bitches because you haven't called her all day there is more to it than that isolated incident. Women have depth and her bitching about the broken routine is just the tip of the iceberg. So, don't ever dumb us (women) down into one dimensional creatures. That will be your first fatal mistake.

I just wanted to know what you thought about routines in relationships...

From Me to You

You caught my attention unexpectedly
You made me feel comfortable instantly
You looked into my eyes, the portal of my soul, intensely
You kissed me sensually
Your voice is like a melody...to my ears
You have been on my mind heavily
I can't wait to see, smell, touch, taste, and hold YOU...

Until then...

Twister

What it do, Blog World???

I'm sure by now you have stopped by No 1, Missy, TTD, G-Mo, BK Diva, or Laa's blogs and read about this past weekend and all its shenanigans. If you haven't read their blogs go by Missy's page for pictures. Thanks No 1 for the hospitality! Your place is nice and I love your dog, Snow Ball. There were other people there that aren't a part of the blog world, but they were just as crazy!

BK Diva, the food was great!

Menu:
Fried Chicken
Curry Chicken
Chili
Mac & Cheese
Lasagna
Greens (No 1 hooked those up)
Brown and white rice
Jello Shots

She cooked enough to feed 60 people! No bullshit.

G-Mo came through the door with a bag of fresh fruit (Mango, Peaches, Strawberries, Kiwi) and 2 bottles of Cruzan Rum. The best slushy drinks I've ever tasted! Good looking out.

TTD and her boyfriend are adorable. He had on this hot shirt that read, ?Remember my name; you'll be screaming it later?. Everyone knows I'm a phrase shirt fanatic, so I was really digging it. BTW: When I come back down can you ask him to give me a tour of West B-More? I wouldn't be scared to go over there with ya'll.

Laa has to be the most down to earth person I've met. She seems all quiet...don't let the smooth taste fool you...LOL!

Missy was in true Missy form...LOL! You see the pictures, so I have nothing else to say other than it's always a treat hanging out with her.

I'm glad that No 1 was finally able to relax, relate and release all of that pre-party anxiety. You through a great party girl!

Highlight of the Night:
Adult Twister!!!! Imagine a bunch of late 20 to mid 30 year olds tangled up on a Twister mat...Hee-fucking-larious! Imagine 4 people (because that's all that could fit on this tiny mat) all twisted together...LOL!

All in all I had a blast and I'm really glad I was in town that weekend. I intend on frequenting the area, so be prepared to hang out when I come back!!!

What A Girl Wants...

My cousin MIT had a small gathering this evening for the holiday. We just threw a few things on the grill, played dominoes, and drank Margaritas, while movies played in the background. This one guy that I'll call OBGYN, because that's his profession, starts discussing his list of attributes that a woman most possess in order for him to date her. The catagories were: Essentials, Valuables and Bonus. After having this conversation it prompted me to sit down and write my own list. Check it out below:

Essentials (Must Haves)

  1. Christian
  2. Integrity
  3. Marriage is important (Sanctity of it)
  4. Attractive
  5. Good Sense of Humor
  6. Empathy
  7. Educated

Valuables (High on the list of priorites, but sacrifices can be made if all other qualities are present)

  1. Paternal
  2. Black (Culturally)
  3. Affectionate
  4. Romantic
  5. Financially Savvy

Bonus (Things that are a plus...icing on the cake)

  1. Cook
  2. Clean (Tidy)
  3. Adventurous
  4. No Kids

This wasn't an easy task. It actually makes you sit and take stock of everything you will and won't put up with. Let's be realistic...nobody is perfect and no one will possess every last attribute you want. So, this system allows you to rank the attributes by level of importance and it allows you be realistic at the same time.

I would like to make an Addendum to the original format of the list presented to me by OBGYN. Let's discuss Deal Breakers. These are more than things that are the opposite of the things you want. I mean, that goes without saying. These are things that no matter how good the sex is, or how much money he makes, or how much he makes you laugh, you will not deal with this shit! That Man or Woman will not pass Go and will not collect $200! It's just as important if not more important to know what you Won't put up with. Below are my deal breakers:

Deal Breakers (Even if you possess all of the above, these things will end it all)

  1. Homosexual (Thanks Nsane!)
  2. Drug Addict/Alcoholic
  3. Insecure
  4. Abusive (Mentally, Physically or Emotionally)
  5. Inconsiderate
  6. Stingy

I may have left some things out of all 4 lists. But, these are the things that are most important to me. The hard part will be implementation. Walking away from people that are less than what I want or know that I deserve. I'm working on it, though...

So, what does your list look like?

Back to Truth or Dare

Robert Mack and his Cuz Tiger gave me a Truth: have you ever been with an athlete or famous person? If so, who?

Yes, I dated both an Athlete and a famous person. I would never name names. Hell, you don't even know my real name.

I met this particular NFL'er in 2002 at the University of Arkansas. Me and some friends took a road trip there for Kappa Weekend. I met him through one of my friends. They were both Kappa's and he was there visiting his undergrad university. We politicked that weekend, exchanged numbers and kept in touch. A few months later he flew me down South for a week where he was staying and playing for a particular NFL Team. He was nursing a torn Tendon back to health and was extremely stressed because he wasn't the 1st string Wide Receiver, so the last thing he needed was an injury. Every morning he got up mad early for Physical Therapy and went to bed early. After I left we chatted on the phone and emailed a lot. At the start of the season that year HBO or Showtime, I can't remember which, did a special on his team and he was showcased. During the show he injured himself again and ended his career. Luckily for him, he actually was a smart dude that graduated from college with a good degree. I haven't seen or heard from or about him since.

My Second NFL'er was a Wide Receiver for a team in the same city I stayed in while I was in college. I think this was 2001, the same season the team went to the Super Bowl and lost. This was the season right before he was traded to the Lions. Anyway, I was at the club with my girls. Mind you, I was very well connected in that city. I worked as a Sales Rep for the local Hip-Hop and R&B Radio Station. Between me and my girls we knew the who's who of the city, so I thought I was the shit. So, my boy comes over to me and says, "Hey, I want to introduce you to somebody." I glance back and notice him looking all sexy and what not, so I say, "Cool" and we start walking over. Mind you, I wasn't into football like that, so I had no idea who he was. We walk up and Red introduces us. Dude raises his hand to tell me to wait a minute. Now, my attitude is much better now, so you know 4 years ago I wasn't having it. So, when he threw up his hand and told me to wait a minute I told his ass to hold that thought and walked off. Some time passes and I'm on the dance floor getting down. All of a sudden I feel an arm around my waist and he spins me around face to face and we just start dancing. That's when I start hearing whispers and people watching. All the time I'm thinking who is this guy and why does everyone keep jocking him? For the rest of the night he had me and my girls hemmed up. So, we exchange numbers and set a date for a date. By the time the date rolled around I was well informed of who he was. He came and scooped me, went out to eat and actually had a fun date. I felt like I was back in High school or something. About a week later we're chit-chatting on the phone and he had the nerve to ask me if I would come over and wash his clothes! WTF! I told his ass that he had me fucked up and that I was the college student, so if anything he could bring he ass over my house and wash my clothes...I'm the one that needs the help! He got all huffy and ended the conversation. Needless to say, we stopped dating...LOL! He didn't call me and I didn't call him. I'm stubborn.

A few months after that one of the star players on the team had a party at his house that I had an invite to through my boy who was on their Marketing team. I saw him there hugged up and feeling on some white chick. We hugged when he saw me and he and I just laughed and I shook my head. He laughed, too. It all made sense. Like I said, he was free agent after that year and left the city.

As for the Celebrity I dated. This was in 2003, while I was still in college, but 5 months before I graduated and moved to Boston. That's what ended our dating...me moving to Boston. Me and my girls were at this basketball game that this very well known rapper always has. My girl went to high school with a lot of members of the Rap Group that this rapper came from before he went solo. One of them was her high school sweetheart. So, whenever we saw them it was nothing, but love. This particular time we were out, one of the guys pulled her aside and inquired about me in his shy way...LOL! I?m sorry, it's bringing back memories. Long story short, we started dating as much as we could in-between him being on the road and out of the country performing. Whenever he was back in town we would connect, hang out and talk while he was out of town. From the beginning, we started dating under the notion that it wouldn't last forever because I was leaving the city and I didn't want that kind of drama of having a man that was on the road all the time and I don't even live in his home city to be there when he came home. I'm a realist. I wasn't trying to get that involved. Besides, we had a good time, but not well enough for me to be bent out of shape. And, since I'm not star struck and he was just a regular dude to me I didn't try to make more out of it then what it was. So, after I left we continued to talk ever so often and whenever he comes to Boston to do a show he calls me up to hang out. He hasn't been here in awhile and last I heard he had a baby by this chick in the city I left before coming to Boston.

That's all I think I can actually say I dated or had a date with. Although, I have met, hung out with and know a lot more people!

100 Posts and Counting...

Today marks my 100th post! To think I have had 100 things to say to you all and you actually listened. Here are 100 more things about me! I hope this helps you understand me more.

Here it goes.

  1. I'm an Aries.
  2. Sometimes I wish I was a Libra.
  3. I was born on Good Friday the 13th. Spooky huh?
  4. I have a Yin/Yang on my back. It symbolizes my dual personality.

  6. I broke my arm twice in the same place. Once in 1st grade and again in 6th grade.

  8. I'm allergic to cats.
  9. A neighbor's cat sits in front of my door every day and won't move. I could kick him and he just rolls over. He doesn't try to run in the house or anything. He just sits there. I've nicknamed him Garfield.
  10. Aside from the Yin/Yang on my back, I have a panther on my tigh, a tribal design around my belly button and a ghetto "M" tattoo in-between my thumb and pointer finger. I got that one with Indian ink, needle and thread.

  16. I'm scared of commitment even though I front like I want to be in a relationship.
  17. I have no idea how to correct that problem. Relationships require each person to be vulnerable and I've done a good job of squashing all vulnerabilities and I'm not comfortable pulling them back up.
  18. I'm thinking about getting Lasik surgery.
  19. I like to fart when I'm alone. I know that?s gross, but it's the truth...LOL!

  27. I sit and day dream about my Ex from college. He by far, has been the best man I?ve ever had.

  29. My attitude can be real shitty.
  30. I have a violent streak that I have to keep under wraps.
  31. I once kicked a dent in my mother's stove when I was like 12. I was pissed!
  32. I curse like a sailor sometimes.

  37. I haven't seen my father in 11 years. I don't care to see him, either.
  38. I keep in touch with his family, though.
  39. Sometimes I think that I have too many friends. I can't keep up with everyone, so I feel like I neglect them all.
  40. I believe in reincarnation.

  42. I have high expectations for myself and everyone around me. Someone always let's me down.
  43. I used to fight a lot growing up.
  44. Once this girl bit me in the face. I had to go to the doctor and get a shot. We both got suspended for 10 days. Bitch!

  48. He had to give me strength today.
  49. I'm a very blunt person.
  50. I think I have some sort of connection with the spiritual world that goes beyond just prayer, church and knowing God. Laugh if you want to. I'm serious.
  51. I have a fixation on hair and its upkeep. As a result, I get me hair done every 2 weeks. If my hair isn't right, I constantly straighten it, look in the mirror and become real self conscious.
  52. I secretly care what people think about me. Not to a degree that it affects how I feel about myself, but I do care.
  53. I'm more Conservative than Liberal.
  54. I've never dated outside my race. Although, I wouldn't mind trying it. I've seen some fine ass Latin men lately.
  55. I'm an avid reader. I'll read just about anything.
  56. I'm a control freak. I like things to be done my way. If I relent that's because I've decided that stepping back benefits me more than taking control.

  59. Lately, I've been pulled toward the color green.
  60. I used to want breast implants until I saw this MTV special about plastic surgery that made me throw up in my mouth a little. Now, I realize a phat azz is much more important than big boobs.
  61. My favorite movie of all time is School Dayz.
  62. I once worked 3 jobs so, that I could have enough money to move off campus in undergrad.
  63. I once dated a Stripper. I was about 18 at the time.
  64. I would be devastated if my grandparents were to pass. I can't even wrap my mind around that concept.
  65. This shit is harder than I expected.
  66. I don't like to talk on the phone that much. I prefer email or face to face interactions better.
  67. As a child I wanted my name to be Lisa or Tina.
  68. Once, I burned the front of my hair out using a Super Dark & Lovely perm...It was too funny. I grabbed the wrong Relaxer by mistake.
  69. I also burned the back of my hair out with Stylist curlers. I left them on the stove too long and when I went to curl my hair, my hair came out with the curlers.
  70. I'm really good at shooting pool. I learned my freshman year of college. I would spend hours in the Student Center making the guys teach me how to play.
  71. I once wore a natural. I would go to the barber shop every week to get it lined and tapered...LOL! After that I started twisting it. When I moved to Boston I permed it. I might post pictures for the unbelievers.
  72. When I was 15 the house next door was on fire and it caught on to my house. The firemen came and had to kick the door down and put holes in the floors and in the walls. The house was destroyed with water damage. The house next door had to be torn down.

  82. I was once bitten by a Doberman in the leg. Nothing major, but traumatic all the same.
  83. I almost drowned at the beach when I was about 7. We were playing Volleyball in the water and I went out too far. I was tangled up in the seaweed and pulled under the water. As a result, I am petrified of water, although I love the beach.

  93. I hate passive aggressive people. It's like, say something already. Don't agree with me because you don't like confrontation then go and stab me in the back. That's some bullshit. Let's see where we are both coming from, discuss it, agree to disagree if that's the only resolution, and then leave it at that.
  94. My roommate is a younger version of the old me. I sometimes just shake my head at her and think, "Girl, you got a long way to go if you think that's how life goes and the shit you do and say is acceptable".

Dared To Tell The Truth...

Always the one to be involved in everything going on, I have jumped on the Truth or Dare Bandwagon. I got a Truth from Royce's Daughter and a Dare from T.Cass?

Rules: In the comment section let me know if you want a Truth or Dare. I'll give you one and then you either answer the challenge in my comments or on your blog. In all fairness I'll take a challenge from you in return!

LET THE GAMES BEGIN!

Truth: What's the one thing you've done in your personal life in the last 6 months that you completely regret?

I try to live by the regret nothing you do code of life. So, it's hard for me to answer this question. But, I will admit that I allowed myself to be caught up in some nonsense and if the situation were to present itself again I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. I'm a big advocate of not having my time wasted. Not to sound cliché, but time is of the essence. I allowed my time and energy to be wrapped up in someone and his self-imposed drama. Against my better judgment and advice, I gave the person the benefit of the doubt only to realize he was a liar...dramatic...selfish...self-centered and not worth his weight in gold. I don't regret this because it allowed me to be selfless which in hindsight was fulfilling on several levels. So, as I said, I'm not a regretful person. Every problem is a challenge and every experience is a learning one?

Dare: I dare you to tell us what REALLY happened when Rob Mack came to Boston.

Believe it or not, but nothing happened. We went out to dinner, to the gay party, to the club and back to my house. The next day we went to brunch and chilled at my place because the weather was so nasty out. The next morning I dropped him at the airport on my way to work. Yes, he did stay with me, but that's my homie. He always has a place to stay whenever he comes to Boston. I would love to make stuff up and fulfill your fantasies...but, I can't...LOL! Besides, I've always been told that loose lips sink ships?LOL!

I hope I've met the challenge. Now it's your turn. Truth or Dare.

NBMBA Conference Part 1: Stanking Ass OMNI Hotel

I think I leaned and rocked wit it too much because I came back from ATL sore and tired. I had to take Monday off just to recuperate.

OMNI Hotel

First let me start by staying. I will never, never, ever, ever stay at another OMNI. Especially, not the OMNI in ATL. Where do I begin? I know I told you about my dirty room check-in experience in the last post, but that's not where it ended.

Wednesday, I got up posted on this blog, got dressed and met some people for lunch. I made it back to the hotel about 7 and I had dinner plans with the team at 8. When I walk in my hotel room to check email before dinner I noticed that the room had been cleaned. Great!

Wrong!

I go into the bathroom and there is this brown residue that seems to have leaked from under the rim of the sink bowl and dried in the sink. I didn't trip. I called down to the front desk and told them the problem asking them to have it cleaned by the time I return from dinner.
So, I come back from a nasty dinner at McCormick & Schmicks and drinks at the hotel bar around 1 in the morning. I come in get undressed, throw on my sleep clothes, wrap my hair and prepare to brush my teeth and wash my face. I go in the bathroom and there is still some brown shit in the damn sink. Now, I'm mad and disgusted. In 24 hours I have 2 problems. WTF! I immediately get on the phone with the operator to vent and ask for assistance.

Let me make this statement before I continue:

I can be ignorant when I want to be depending on the situation and the audience. But, I have learned that you get more respect and better responses in situations like this if you talk to people with some sense in a firm manner without using curse words or raising your voice.

So, I get this country ghetto bitch on the phone that's pissed that her stupid ass is sitting in a hotel answering phones at 1 in morning. So, I proceed to tell her the issue and that I'm pissed because I haven't even been here 24 hours and have 4 more days to go. Mind you, I'm using my educated way of talking because I didn't want her to shut down before I even got started. It didn't matter. She gets all huffy and starts telling me how it's not her fault because she just got there. I tell her ass that she is a representative of the hotel and she needs to ensure that my stay is comfortable and to get someone up there to do their damn job!

Rule #1 in Customer Service: SHUT UP AND LISTEN!
Rule #2 in Customer Service: FIX THE DAMN PROBLEM!

This bitch decides to put me on hold. So, I hang up and call right back asking her for her name she immediately puts me on hold. So, I hang up and call a 3rd time and this time she immediately transfers me to the front desk. This is when Victor answers the phone and he's just as rude as her. So, I ask for the manager and he tells me that he?ll take a message. Bullshit! Who Shit?! Victor's Shit because I wasn't going to sit and wait to be gotten back to. He didn't know who he was talking to. I told his ass to have the manager meet me at the desk NOW; I'm on my way down. You would have thought I was Clark Kent changing into Superman! I unwrapped my hair, changed clothes and ran out the room. I mean, I had to look good. You never know who you might meet.

So, I get down to the desk and I immediately tell the other guy at the front desk to get Victor, the ghetto chick in the back and manager out here now. 2 seconds later the manager, Sal, comes out the back to speak to me. At the top of my voice, I start talking about how horrible the service was. He quickly tries to usher me away from the guest who were checking in?LOL! Long story short, I know too late...I tell him everything that happened and how I was pissed seeing as though my company prepaid for 20 $200 a night rooms in that damn hotel and I wouldn't stand for the disrespect. He and I walked back to my room and mysteriously the mark was gone, but you could see where it was coming from under the rim of the sink. His first offer was to Comp the room for a night, but I declined since it was already paid for. His next offer was Breakfast and Dinner for 2 with no price limit at the hotel restaurant. I'll take it. Thank you very much.

My main issue wasn't that the sink wasn't cleaned. I would have been fine if they would have just come up and cleaned it. My issue was the dirty bitch that answered the phone and the ignant African at the front desk. I'll be damned if I'm spending my money and get treated anything less than proper. You feel me?

I'll end this post here because it's already longer than I anticipated. I'll post part 2 about the actual conference later.
